Got email from a bank in Luxemburg stating that they are holding 60,000 of me (maddog) but want to know why they got extra shares in 2000.

Now if I had been clever, I would have said something like this:

for the year 2000, we awarded the 200 shares as dividends, and an additional 500 shares for 2001. You will be officially notified by end of Q1. We are also holding 100,000 at 50% current market rate for any of our partners, including you, but this offer expires Friday. I have included a paypal link for you, just state how many shares you want.
thank you blah, blah...and so on. If I had been clever.

Instead I responded:
huh? What are you talking about I am not offering any shares in maddog. Are you sure you got the right person?

And that is why I am not rich.

[note maddog==madborg, I have used maddog since about 1990, madborg is a newer name]

But on the bright side, you aren't in jail for fraud :)

at least in jail or prison i would have learned a useful trade like blowing up bank vaults and things like that -- real recession proof stuff instead of this computer stuff that keeps changing every six months and the cheapest person gets the job.

Looks like this is going a little too far. Now the bank is asking me for help in tracking down the investment group and even gave me their address.

I think they still suspect that I am the maddog they are trying to contact. I may end up in prison afterall.

actually the bank contacted me about a week ago and asked for help. And today I got another email from them, asking about my progress. I am fairly sure that they think I am connected with the partnership.

I better start hording cartons of cigarettes.

How much per share?

How much per share?

now quit that!

But banks usually don't mess around with small investments.

The thing is resolved and the bank has promised to not bother me anymore.

Now if only I could figure out how my checking account got from $211.32 to over 3.5 million dollars. JOKING. Please don't send Interpol after me.
