It seems that Steam updated their Starter Pack download that we use for our SoD client. It is currently downloading the June 8th 2010 version of Everquest including the Underfoot expansion.

For now, it is recommended not to purchase the Starter Pack from Steam to get the SoD client. Also, for anyone who already has the SoD download from Steam, it is a good time to backup your download before it gets patched if you haven't already.

We may start working more on the new Steam client once we feel more comfortable that it isn't going to be changing on a regular basis now. It is already fairly functional, but still needs a good amount of work to catch up with the currently supported SoD client. The good thing about this update is that it basically means anyone who has purchased SoD through Steam can now get Underfoot for free by updating their Steam install. Also, it means that anyone buying the "Starter Pack" will now get Underfoot as well, which is a $40 cost normally. Again, do not purchase the Steam download for now until we can figure out how to best handle this and have time to get the client working better with EQEmu.
