Is the EQEmu patcher a kind of "If it works for you.. kewl.." and if it does not work and you get that "patchsrv.dat" error "Uhmm.. Well.. To bad" ?

Is it like that?

Proggy surely kewl enough for the ones to get it to work.. but i aint one of them..

I assume you put the patcher in your eq directory.

I am thining its the patcher for some people i am gettinf same error so what i decided to do is do a system restore on a day i knew the EQemu was working.Ran the EQemu patcher ans sure enough I get the same error when on that day it was working fine.I also think it has to do with windows XP not really sure.

It's more then likely a result of the service @

patch.foreverhacking.net not being available at the moment.

The patching software seems to want to make a conxion to this host on port 80...that port isnt currently listening. The FTP service is running though (so its not like their entire InetSrvc are dead).

Anyhow...Im sure someone knows about this. It doesnt appear to have anything to do with your system no matter what flavor of Win32 you're running...so it has to be because the patching service on port 80 is not online and therefore the patcher.exe is not able to attain the file 'patcher.dat' which contains the listings of what files need patched.

My assessment at least...I could be wrong...:-P

We'll just have to be patient until the gods turn the key...

it was working for me yesterday when i read the posts, so i sat at my computer and laughed, then mine stoped working, but today it started working, so i think the patch server was down, try it now
