Ok now i know that you can go to a website posted in here to do the same thing.. but.. Here is a simple way to obtain all the ip info :

OK, it's not too technical ; it's a batch file or script, but it runs instructions automatically. Try this out (it's completely safe):

1) Right click on the desktop, point to New and click on Text Document.

2) Open the New Text Document you created and type the following line into it: cmd /k ipconfig /all

3) Press [ENTER] on your keyboard. Click the File menu and click the Save As command.

4) In the File name text box, type in the name: "IPAddress.bat" Make sure you include the quotes, because it won't work if you don't use the right file extension (the quotes insure that the file extension is saved as you've typed it). Click Save.

5) Close Notepad.

6) Double click on the icon. A command prompt window will open that shows you the complete details of your IP addressing configuration.

Pretty Simple right? This will show everything you ever wanted to know about your ip and connections..

Have Fun all. :P

whatismyip.com gives you your external ip address....which is what you have through your ISP.....the other method will show you both your internal (ex.192.168.1.100) and also your external ip address.

Depending on your setup, ipconfig may only show you your internal ip address. There for you would need to go to a website such as whatismyip, unless you know how to get the info from your router, but using a website is easyest and fastest.
