As some of you might know, that it is possible to play EQ from a Linux box. Since the last patch I unable to play with my Linux box. Has anyone tried to install the patcher on winex for Linux? I am able to get EQ to install on my linux box, but the EQEmu Patcher will not install. Personally I think that EQ runs a little better on a linux box. But I would like to know if this is possible and has anyone pulled it off. Is the patcher open source? Thanks in advance.

I tried for a few days in Slackware 8.1 shortly after patcher was released. I could not get it to install.

Solution: Run the patcher on a dir on your win box, copy the changed files to the linux box

Nice idea, that should work very well.
Also, you people need to learn what is used for what, you dont run things that dont need directx in winex, wine is useful for that, or even some other emulators that work a great deal better :P

Either way, copying files from the windows box gets the job done by running the patcher where it was meant to be run </flame>
