Updating EQEmu (Linux)

I have a few questions about updating the code/DB/scripts etc. I went through the documentation, but I couldn't seem to find what I'm looking for...

When you execute the eqemu_server.pl and you use it to update components does it overwrite your changes?

EG: if I run the database [check_db_updates] if it finds updates will that overwrite any customizations I've made? For example if I've changed an existing spell value (say duration for example) will that be reset, or does the script somehow know to not update?

I did see when updating quests it does allow you to select if you wish the to deploy the updated quest and if you do it saves a copy of the previous script which is good.

The other thing I haven't been able to figure out, is how do you update the binaries / main files? Is this included in the utility, as I didn't see an option for it. Do you need to redownload and rebuild everything then reapply your customizations?

Any direction / assistance would be appreciated.

Regards,

Zar.

It will not overwrite your custom database changes, it will just add new stuff like table schema changes. To get new PEQ data you'd have to manually import the data yourself.
