Stat food is very easily exploited
 

Stats apply from food not once you eat it but as soon as you put it in your inventory. So you could place it after all your bread and you will never eat the stat food yet constantly get the bonus from it. Also whatever stat food is in the highest priority slot will add to stats. So you can have different types of stat food and just switch their position in your inventory to get different bonuses. Also the instant you eat the stat food the bonuses go away.

This is not a bug within the eqemu server code nor within the client.

This is a live-like behavior that persists even today.

Call it a bad design..but, it is not something that can nor needs to be addressed here.
