Guildmaster Disconnect
There seems to be a global problem on my server with the guildmasters, attempting to train(right click) causes a disconnect.
Guildmasters Tested Paladin: Edwardian Holyblade(freportn) Shadow Knight: Nezzka Tolax(neriakc) Bard: Jusean_Evanesque(qeynos) This issue occurs on both the Titanium and Underfoot clients. Server log files contain no errors. OS: Ubuntu 14 Server DB: peqbeta_2014-09-25-02-01 Thanks in advance for any resolution to this issue. |
Try now and see if it is resolved (with the second commit.)
Looks like there was some weird casting issues. |
Thank you for looking into this issue Uleat.
Unfortunately the update didn't seem to fix the issue, the clients still LD shortly after right-clicking a GM. |
I'm not a linux guy and can only 'poke' around with obvious issues...
I made a few stabs at it..but, I'm passing it on to a more seasoned hand :) |
Not a problem, I appreciate the time and effort you put in trying to get it fixed.
Thank you. |
I'm not getting any crashes with the current head (v1.0.1-2000-gf0f5262) compiling with 4.8.2. My best guess is that it was some weird optimization error or something ...
If you are still getting errors, please post your g++ -v output. |
Thanks for your time demonstar55,
I'm not sure what the problem is, I even tried starting from scratch last night on the off chance something was corrupted. The only bugs that I have run across is the gm ld and the merc liaisons windows are empty, everything else seems to be working fine. Hopefully this is the output you are looking for. Code:
[ 1%] Building CXX object luabind/CMakeFiles/luabind.dir/src/class.cpp.o |
Did you update your repo to at least the patch that contains the GMTrainee struct updates?
If you're having the same issue as was demonstar55, try this patch and see what happens: http://wiki.eqemulator.org/i?M=Pastebin&Paste=otkA3j1C |
Awesome work Uleat, that completely fixed the problem :)
Thank you for all the work you put into getting this problem fixed. |
Was it the last update or that patch that did it? :)
If it was the patch - and, if you don't mind posting some basic info about your system.. ..stuff like: linux/compiler flavors and builds, vm or not, etc... That patch shouldn't be the cure-all for this issue and any info that you can provide would be greatly appreciated! :) EDIT: Other devs had their hand in this too..I just reverted some of the changes that I made some time ago to see if that was a part of the problem :P |
I tried the patch you posted, however each time I tried to compile it threw errors, unfortunately I was dead tired at the time (28 hours without sleep) and didn't think to write down what the error was. In fact now that I look back at the earlier post requesting a g++ -v request and my clueless response tells me my brain wasn't functioning.
I grabbed the update, compiled and it works like a charm. As far as the system it is a straight Ubuntu 14 server (command line only) system not a VM. Cmake v. 2.8.12.2 GCC v. 4.8.2 perl v. 5.18.2 Lua v. 5.2 And a big "Thank You" to everyone that helped fix this issue. |
Ok, good. I was afraid that you were still having issues with the latest code.
If you were using an older code base with that patch, then it was likely the use of a constant that I added in the middle of this. Glad to head that it's working now! |
