Return to login screen after hitting enter world
 

I have installed a fresh copy of Secrets of Faydwer and set the host and made a desktop Icon all is good there. The problem starts when I am at the Toon selection screen as soon as I try to enter the world I get kicked back to Login screen. why I can enter no problem on the Titanium set up for P99 I can even enter the world from the Titanium set up. Any Ideas???

Not all servers will support all clients.

What port are you using for 'Secrets of Faydwer'?

And what server are you trying to use it on?

I have no idea of what port I just allow the installation to set that.
As for which server it is the main PEQ server.

As far as I know, peq should still allow the SoF client since it uses the EQEmu code base - and it still does.


For port, this is your eqhost.txt file.

Titanium and Secrets of Faydwer should be on port 5998.

All newer clients should be on port 5999.


The problem is that SoF and SoD have a lot of opcodes in common - including their login ones.

This is why there are now two ports for clients to log into.


The wrong port could describe the problem that you're experiencing..but, it's not a guarantee the it is the issue.


EDIT: My first EQEmu client was SoF. I'd recommend keeping it since it is only one of two legally obtainable clients that we support.

The port I have is 5998...?

I checked on the ports 5998 This is what is there. I even tried the 5999 port all that did is failed to show ANY servers. I m still in the same boat.

Are there server files I have to install such as P99 does? And if so where do I find them?

I just pointed my SoF client to peq and got booted back to server select..let me check with them and then test locally on my server.

Ok..I pushed a fix for this up to the main code repository - something that occurred because of an oversight on my part.

It will probably take awhile to disseminate through to any affected servers (ones who updated since late January of this year..)
..but, hopefully won't take too long for you to be able to login using that client.

OK, I am now able to enter the world, But some small problems except for one.
Problems
#1 some item links don't display correctly. My guess is this is a "proper" file are not matched. If this is so where do I find the files to Update them???
#2 Now a more serious problem, I logged in fine the first time then logged out fine But soon as I try to log in AGAIN I get a Windows Application Error. I have run into this on P99 before so I went to delete the EQ.Ini file and then I am able to log in But my settings are bak to default settings. I have determined that the issue is when I set the Graphics to 1920 X 1080 settings this issue happens.

I don't have any experience with the EQ.ini issue...


Do you have any examples of the item links that are failing?

Do they fail only in certain chat channels?
