Hosting my own EQ (1999 CD) server to play offline?

Hi,

Just wanting to know if it's possible to host my own server from the original EQ CD just to play "offline" for exploration etc?

This is just the original EQ CD with no expansions.

Thanks.

Short answer, is No.

Long answer - The EQEmu/PEQ project only supports certain releases of the client software. (Titanium, SoF, SoD, UF and RoF) But first you have install the server, for your client to play on. The gitbook wiki is full of instructions for that - https://eqemu.gitbook.io/server/

Just thought I would add something here. (for those who need the info) Each active server you see on that Emu list, may be setup to only support one particular client. Like, Project 1999, they only support the Titanium client, along with their own little client patch files that need to be downloaded. Many other servers will support the more modern Rain of Fear client. (but anything currently on "Steam" site is not compatible).
