Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered.
Hi,
This is pretty strange. When I'm playing, at seemingly random times, all my client windows go black and freeze, then a few minutes later I get a systray popup from windows saying "Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered.". http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/5305/nvidiacrash.jpg I 6box on live and have zero problems. I've tried XP SP2&3 Compat modes, tried setting processor affinity, tried disabling desktop composition, tried limiting background window framerates. I'm running Windows 7 x64 with a Q6600 and 9800GTX in 3840x1080 (1920x1080 EQ windows). Is there a glitch with running titanium in 1080? Anyone else run this? I've checked nVidia's site and they haven't updated my drivers yet. Anyone have any clues? :\ I'm lost. Thanks! |
Well that is an old problem that just keeps showing up....I have seen it happen a few times with different driver versions. Only way I know to fix this problem is to update your drivers and even that doesn't help all the time.
Here is a post on Nvidia's forums that tells a little about what is happening. http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=108581 Microsoft elaborates more on it here: http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device...m_timeout.mspx |

you must install eq at C:\Prompt Only! and you must be loged into the system as admin when installing the program and allow it to pass click Yes. I have a Nvidia 5400 runs fine if you have a ATI Radeon use windows drivers or use better yet install the driver cdrom disk to get it working correct. This should solve your problem. |
I tend not to use the Nvidia auto update software to update my drivers. Too many times I have updated and PC performance has been not as good as the previous version. My advice is that if you get a good, working driver for you Nvidia card then stick with it.
