Door Locks and Picks

Just an idea I chose to do and may interest others.
Even though some servers will go as far as making all doors accessible without keys
or lockpicking skill, I didn't want to go that far. But at the same time, coming up with
a "happy medium" for players. I created a Master Door Key which will open any door
that can be opened with a lockpicking skill. But any doors that could not be opened
by lockpicking, I left those alone. This creates a good option for players. Either go to
the vendor and purchase the Master Key for 1600 pp or ....roll up a rogue. <grin>

Great idea. Thanks!

The only problem with this is that you can use MacroQuest and not load any of the doors or just warp around them.

Any use of MQ is banned on my server. Not a problem.

You can’t tell I’m using it if I’m not making it obvious though. Unless you’ve created a client side extension for detecting the process itself. Hell, I’ve warped and speed hacked on servers without them knowing it. But trying to completely keep people from using it is going to be an uphill battle. Our “hacker” detection isn’t the most accurate. A guy that got summoned by a mob flags as a warper, people using stuff like SoE or SoW will get flagged sometimes. It’s not a fun prospect to try to disable it and nitpick the hackers table manually.

Is that something they have to load before logging on ? or does it not load doors everytime
they zone ? I've never played much with any advanced scripts of MQ, never used it much
on live. Wasn't aware of that one, haha

You can do a lot with it, it’s just knowing how.
