I’m confused. Please elaborate.

Most can't even set up the precompiled installer package. This image is fake.

Sorry guys, it wasn't meant to be taken seriously. It's just a cartoon for the purpose of putting a smile on those who might
have a sense of humour. It's obviously attracted the wrong audience, lol. Tough crowd tonight.

I can appreciate good satire, I just didn’t know if this was that or something else.

Even though Secrets makes an interesting (and blunt) point, it's not too unrealistic to think of how the server list grows
these days. In the past I've seen an average of 80-90 servers on that list, now it's slowly increased to 120+ more often,
as some of the players start installing their own servers. It doesn't put a dent in the overall player population, but then
again, climate change didn't happen overnight either. Unfortunately, every 2nd or third new install has a 100 questions
with it, lol.

I've noticed an influx of people who are simply too stupid to functionally host/develop a server.

Everyone starts somewhere

Usually, people start with basic computer knowledge.


Not half of these people.

A lot of these regular players know how to install a game to play it, without having to worry about advanced computing.
but this installer is obviously going to attract a lot of them who, all of sudden, have hopes of having their own server.
I assume this was anticipated when the "easy installer" was introduced, right ? Before that, you saw tons of these players
having difficulty creating that "eqgame.exe" shortcut just to play on these servers. Now what are they doing ? LOL

I agree that newbies need a little computer knowledge to get themselves through the installation process, but the installer
indirectly implies that one doesn't need to know much at all. It used to in older guides, but even the modern guide on the
wiki has a few glitches that might be confusing to a newbie. For example, in the login server part, it shows this :
"Uncomment the address tag and put the local LAN IP" Is that not making reference to the old xml config ? Many "little" things
for newbies to sift through and learn in both pre-install and post-install, after they get the guide figured out.
