need help
current windows 7 ultimate 64bit os
try to use the eqemu installer files but this is what i get Code:
Administrative permissions required. Detecting permissions... |
Did your Windows 7 machine have Internet at the time? It has to download files to run the installer. It may seem obvious that people are always plugged into the Internet, but I am asking in case you are perhaps running a VM that maybe isn't bridged or something.

yes i am hardwired to hughesnet satellite modem so not sure whats going on i am reply to my post on same machine
|
ok tried vm ware workstation and few differnt operating systems and still same thing....after running eqemuinstaller as admin....it still says no internet yet i am here posting from same machine..... not sure what is going on. could my speed be too slow for it ......or is there a way i could manually download what ever is needed to run a server on my local network?

I've seen this issue once before, Satellite providers will block ICMP (ping) outbound so the installer fails. If you can change your settings at all to allow outbound ICMP at your internet connection otherwise I can look at making a tweak to fix the issue for you, let me know
|
went into my firewall changed ICMPv4 to allow but still a no go..... i hate satallite. So if you would not mind trying your tweak i am game and thank you again

Because satellite sucks and they want to remind you of it.

All you should have to do to workaround this now is simply add a file to the folder in which you are running the installer and call the file Code:
skip_internet_connection_check.txt Also if your script has downloaded eqemu_server.pl already, make sure you delete it and let the installer download a fresh copy Give that a whirl and let me know how that goes for you |
thank you i believe it work i have folder being populated with files and folders that were not there before....thank you
