Making weapons bot >ONLY<
 

Is there a way? I read somewhere that there is, and that it was just as simple as making the class a 'Shroud' only, however, I made the weapon a Shroud only and the bot won't equip it (Clearly, he's not a shroud he's a human, =P)...

Any way to make items JUST for bots? Trying to implement a Epic 1.0 quest for Bots, and I don't want them using the same epics as players..

Bots (as coded) have race, class and level qualifiers for weapons.

I don't know if this will work, but you might try something with deity.

If I run across something else, I'll post it.

On SoA (Spiders old server) you were able to give weapons to bots ONLY. I kinda want to know how...

You will need to alter the source to get the solution you are looking for.

Too much work for something I couldn't care less about, sorry.

i'm sure there are probably several ways you could do it. all of which likely require a level of determination and know-how.

maybe

1) add a custom field to items.
2) check custom data in source when client tries to equip item.
3) handle results...

or

1) add a custom quest event for equipping items to source
2) check against item id in perl when client tries to equip item.
3) handle results...

IDK if you figured it out or not, but my bots can equip items that have a class but no useable race.

Dunno if u care to ask but on raidaddicts back in the day had bot only items only useable by them they call there bots goons n use to have several items goon only maybe stop in there n talk to mortenson maybe he would be willing to share how he did it
