Server has been updated with both code and maps, etc., adding the new Navmesh Pathing technology,
Thanks to the author KLS :) I was anxious to start using this, as it looked both intriguing and positive. |
This is the reason my server had been experiencing interruptions over a couple days.
It's the craziest storm weather we've ever had around here. It's HAIL, not snow, haha. https://image.ibb.co/fRW3Ly/Hail_piles.png |
Many mobs level 65 plus that were otherwise impossible by a group are now doable by a
full group, with difficulty. Good Gear and AA's will help :) NOTE: I will continue working on Raid Bosses, BUT most NPC "special abilities", spell sets and scripts are still in place, until I get to them. Be forewarned, without assumptions. Still a work in progress ...... EDIT: Removed quad attacks on all mobs, as well as removing the "immune to slow" from all mobs 65+ |
I remember going to a game store and buying this, as soon as it was released.
My first piece of gear I looted from WoS was Sleeves of Constriction which I won the "dice roll" in our group for it, haha https://image.ibb.co/eLjsv8/omensofwar_pcbox.jpg |
Project Omens will be in full beta mode on June 29th and will be up 24/7
on a permanent basis with 99.8% uptime. There will never be any character wipes on this server, regardless of low population. I still have toons on live from 2003/4, so it's not considered "out of era" to keep old junk around. (like some of the very helpful threads on these forums) <wink> Even now, there is 40+ dorment accounts with low level (or newbie) toons that haven't been played in awhile, but they will always be there in case of an "itch" down the road. Backups are done every 12 hours (minimum), stored off server. I always keep modern hardware going but the last hard drive that ever calfed on me had an original Win 98 install. I think it had moving parts and we ran Bahamut IRC servers on it. :P So far, since launch, in the last month, there have been no bug reports or complaints posted by any casual active players. That's positive right? One player who has chosen to solo grind a mage all the way to level 70, has communicated frequently with me and seemed to find things went smooth, for the most part. He has definately complimented the new Navmesh pathing in place. Thanks again KLS (and the Emu dev community) for that! But anyways, the following pretty much summarizes the server intentions, (in beta) after June 29th. It is far from "era" perfect, but will keep moving forward, removing out of era items and loot. There is an in-game reward system to encourage players in reporting anything they run into. Obviously, there is no priority for items with a required level of 71+ that can't be used anyways. Please visit the server forums for player support questions. A few extra server rules to take note of :

29th it would be more wise to do it in safe zones (like PoK, Nexus, Baz, etc). Not simply to keep your toon safe from mobs, but I will be randomly checking up on toons who are afk or idle in kill zones, just to make sure they are behaving themselves. :P There is also a "Feedback and Input" section on the server forums for players to input their opinions for some "reasonable" topics, such as boxing limit, etc. I am willing to lend an ear, without getting off track or those who want to "solo all the way to OOM". Trolls will only get beat up by a gang of dwarfs on steroids. :) |
IMPORTANT - Update
Late tonight, (June 17, 2AM CST), after a server restart, boxing will be increased to 6 (per IP) with VERY limited use of MQ, strictly monitored. If it gets to be a problem, decisions will be made. http://projectomens.boards.net/ |
Just an updated ruleset for the server, since the previous one posted. It's still low population
but it's slowly gathering new casual players. I've been busy this week with medical appts, (almost done for another year), but I try to get in-game as much as possible and socialize. NOTE: JUNE 29th Beta start will also include a weekend of special things happening. :) |
