I am receiving the following when trying to connect. Perhaps its patch day and I missed the news somewhere? Thanks in advance.

You may have better luck asking whoever made the application.

Unofficial and therefore not supported by these forums. I did suggest to have the launcher hosted by Rogean and it was briefly discussed in IRC, but I haven't seen any further discussion of it since then. If it was hosted by us, then we could support it, but since it isn't, we can't.

It does sound like a nice application, but I haven't personally used it. Everything the launcher does is something that can be done without using it and isn't overly difficult. Skipping the launcher means skipping issues like the one reported in this thread and being unable to connect due to the hosting being down. You can still connect the normal way fine if you don't use the launcher. If it was hosted by EQEmu, it would be available whenever the Login Server is available, which is the only way I think it would be really useful. Then, it could still be used to simplify things for people that don't bother with reading the wiki setup instructions, and it wouldn't be causing threads like this one when it is down.

Here is the playguide, which explains how to connect normally without using a launcher:
