I have no idea how to "un-line of sight" a spell in the DB. Is that environment? Is there any cheat sheet on the internet telling you what each field in the spells_new table does?

Can't answer that Q and not sure if this helps - are you using one of the spell editors? Or editing the database directly? If the latter than you might find an editor useful as most of the fields are mapped to a more intuitive description or values.

Off the top of my head,look at the differences between pacify and any nuke. Pacify can be cast without LoS but nukes cannot.
