Merchant/Guard issues

I'll adress these one at a time.

1. For me merchants don't seem to have items, on my server or other pplz servers. I think this is a directory issue? Though I don't know.

2. Guards don't seem to protect people or attack the mobs on my server, they just stand there as an orc pawn rapes me up the #!@, think MJ paid em off. (JK, but its pissin my friends off, when they start a new character, they don't like running out of a zone to be saved to survive something stronger then them)

Any advice.

Thank you, I think I might have seen on involving the first issues already, a possible fix that is, but 2, I'm stumped!

I think it may have something to do with the database though. Used Cavedudes installer, not sure though. If its the database, how do I fix it.

W00T Cavedude is back, according to hez site.

#2 is a database thing, you have to set + factions and - faction then assign them to guards and mobs.. its a real pain in the backside

If you used the db provided with my installer, merchants and guards should work fine. Unless some of my code changes broke the binaries... ;) Do you get any error messages when the server starts?

#1 is due to a bad EQUI_MerchantWnd.xml file (the live version isn't compatible with eqemu merchants), try to grab an older one and install it to your default UI directory.

#2 If you're running 0.6.0 dr2 or lower, you're pretty much out of luck. You need dr3+ to get guards working, and mobs assisting each other.
