Maybe i missed that bit in your post but when i gathered the hate data from eqlive 2 years ago it was pretty clear that spellhate was generated by the sum of each each spell effect.

The client has 2 different opcodes for this - one is MSG_MoveCharges to move charges from a stackable item anywhere (or delete with 0xFFFF..) and one is MSG_MoveItem - which moves non-stackable items...
