Basically, it exposes your computer directly to the Internet. You get no firewall protection, but you don't need to port forward. It's a bad solution to your problem, imo.

Don't blindly copy KinglyKrab's (or anyone else's) config files. He had some numeric IP for the login server...

They should be located in logs/ within the EQEmu server directory. I haven't ran an EQEmu server for a while, but no, duplicate binary files are not generally present in a typical installation.
