I'm using Titanium and this worked for me.
You'll just need to rename these files in your everquest folder:
eqtheme.mp3
combattheme1.mp3
combattheme2.mp3
deaththeme.mp3
to something like:
eqtheme.bak
combattheme1.bak
combattheme2.bak
deaththeme.bak
The game will then load the old style midi songs instead of these MP3's.
