SOLVED
Since my set up is not standard EQemu (I have a very old Heidi Gui interface)
On my interface there is a spot to put your local IP, The Ip that was in that spot was not even in the range of availbe addresses for the new router.
The server obtained a new address with the new router install but I did not update the IP on the Heidi gui.
Also my server was set to private, not public.
There were a couple of other minor issues but I think the above is what got it working.
