I dumped a default npc_types table and put it up for grabs if you can learn how to source it into your database with heidisql. I still use MySQL database and Navicat to piddle around with my own stuff. Keep in mind, this npc_types table is from a current, updated database (version 9139), and it will drop your old table and create a new default one. You can rename your current one to npc_types_old (or back it up). This has all merc merchants set to class 71. You can download the it here -

I'm not sure why the merc merchant class has never been set in the default peq install, since it does continue to be built on "current live" ?
