Default Local Server Hardware Requirements

Greetings,

I was hoping to get some feedback on potential server requirements for my use case. My intention is to run local only, but up to 54 clients from my desktop (via MQ2). What would be the best route and what hardware?
  1. I currently have an Unraid server with the following specs (assumption would be a VM)
    • Intel® Xeon® CPU X5680 @ 3.33GHz
    • 32Gb
    • I can move this to 10Gb networking as well via PCI
  2. rpi4 - 8Gb
    • CPU is currently 1.5Ghz Quad-Core ARM
    • 8Gb Memory
    • Networking limited to 1Gb
    • Storage via USB NVMe SSD for write speed/size
  3. New 1U Server to meet specific specs
    • If so, what recommended specs can comfortably handle 54 local clients?

I've found a couple mentions that XEON processor support could be spotty.

How is rpi support?

Also, do I need a separate server for login if I want to keep it all local? Could that be done via rpi?
