Default Unable to Log In

After getting my hands on a copy of EQ Titanium, changing the eqhost.txt file and adding "patchme" to the end of the shortcut path, I've tried logging in, but it tries for 10 seconds then says "Unable to connect, the log in server may be down, or you are goofing up." I tried pinging www.eqemulator.net:5998 and it went swimmingly.

So, is the log in server actually down, or do I need to do port-forwarding/mess with my firewall settings, or something else?

EDIT: Just tried pinging eqemulator.net and www.eqemulator.net (came back with different IPs from www.eqemulator.net:5998) and they both timed out four times. Not sure which IP address is the correct one.

Pings aren't a very reliable way to test connectivity to most websites. Most of them will block ICMP.

Make sure that you setup your eqhost.txt file properly and make sure you don't have ANY extra spaces or characters after the end of the host line. The easiest way to tell is opening the file and pressing CTRL+A (select all). If you see any spaces or carriage returns after the host line, you need to remove them.
