Default Awkward sound and sound files

The whole game's sound in general seems a bit ..off is the only way to describe it.
Environment sounds are unnecessarily loud;
Normal sound effects are unnecessarily quiet;
Locations of sounds is inaccurate;
Lots of echo and reverb from things that should not give them.

I have changed my sound card settings to a more legacy setup but nothing seems to fix it.

Someone mentioned that there were some audio files to help alleviate above issues, but I cannot find them here.

As far as we are aware, there's no way to change volume outside of the client controls. It may be in a packet hidden somewhere, but a majority of that is handled clientsided.
You can use a program like S3DSpy to edit the pfs files that contain the sounds, but the forum rules state no warez, and pfs files count as warez.
