Default A connection to the server could not be reached

Hi all,

I'm getting this error on putting in my login/pass at the login page. I know this has happened before and it was a server issue, so is anyone else having this problem?

I just swapped internet service provider today so it's probably that, in honesty. How do I go about overcoming it? I've tried disabling windows vista firewall at control panel and don't have any other firewall software, but Im still getting this error.

Any thoughts??

Cheers!

When you have a problem such as this you must provide as much detail about the setup as possible.

Are you trying to connect to your own server or someone elses server? If it is your own server then what is the login type? If it is someone elses server then how are you attempting to connect to it...through the eqemu login server or by private login?

I just run the everquest.exe application (with patchme at the end and port change and shortcut at desktop) and at the actual login page where i put my station login and password in, it gives this error. It doesn't even reach the server select page.

I've contacted by ISP to see if there's a bizarre restriction they have on it...

If they are blocking port 5999 or 5998, that could cause problems.

You mention you run everquest.exe, but it should be eqgame.exe. Depending on the client you run, you may need port 5999 or 5998 in your eqhost.txt file, and if you don't have it set to the right port for your client, you may get that same error as well.
