Unhappy Connecting to server over LAN

I got my server running on a desktop connected to a switch and I want to connect to it using my laptop. I changed the eqhost.txt file to [LoginServer]
Host=127.0.0.1:5999
then made a short cut to lunch EQ. When I logged on my account it failed. Next I downloaded something called minilogin and started that now I can log in but my server is not listed. Whats wrong??

I can login to the server on the server itself. I used mysqlcc and looked my account it says its on 127.0.0.1 so that seems fine.

For starters "Host=127.0.0.1:5999" on the client is wrong, it has to reflect the ip of the machine it's coming from Example: 192.168.1.100.
Do a search for "mini login problem", and you'll get more answers.

Talking

Ok I just got it. I used this link to config everything.

http://www.eqemulator.net/forums/sho...ight=127.0.0.1

So what I believe I did was looked at my local ip on the server and changed everything to that, then I only changed the account ip that will be used by my laptop to its local Ip. The server now shows up!
