Chat text seems to be bugged

It seems that all ingame text will bug for me every now and then... some words will appear 3-4 sizes smaller than the rest of the line, there will be an invisible line cut through the middle of the text, or half of a word will get cut off. does anyone know how this can be fixed? I've tried changing the font and size, this doesn't seem to do anything. any help would be appretiated just let me know if you need more info.

-tried reinstalling
-tried using wineq to load the game
-tried altering font sizes and font types
