I created an issue for the root cause of this: https://github.com/EQEmu/Server/issues/418

I (or someone) will push a fix once one is found and tested.

I thank Uleat for being persistent.

Overall it is not much of a pain, small percentage of players will have this happen.

Ok, just committed a fix for this.

Keep an eye out for any new problems since this change occurs in the handler for all out-going packets.

It did create other problems...

I'll keep looking at it..probably because I'm a masochist.

But, it will probably take someone more familiar with the netcode to figure this one out completely.

It's definitely the right area!

Unload your customized UI files reference Directx reload your video card drivers. Your Directx file MSVCR80.dll took a dump..

Why would it only do it with an account with a combination of character names equaling 38 characters?

Reason: problem is your Resolution settings
Goto Underfoot folder click and run OptionsEditor make sure Resolution match your display settings. Check the UI your using might not support that many characters.

I think that I discovered the error of my ways...

Keeping it in a branch until it can be more fully tested: [branch merged and deleted]

(That is accessible through git.)

Ok, this fix is now implemented in the base code.

Please report any server-based packet issues or newly occurring client crashes as a new issue.
