You may need to run some database updates or there some error in your database. I had a similar problem but with bots, all they would do is melee, they never buffed or nuked. I fixed it by starting with the database at peq than running the updates, some you will have to run manually as some were removed from the database download that shouldnt of been removed, so some you will need to run line by line, rather than the whole update at once if your getting errors. many of them are optional but there some that are required

I have the same problem, I even created a new DB, sourced in all the updates and it has the same problem, I have to run rev 1871 to have the skills working.

Skill caps now use the MaxLevel rule instead of being hard capped at level 75.

ok trev, i see you posted a table. Is that all we need to get it working again or do we need a new rule also? If so can you post how to insert the rule or?

If your server only goes up to 85 or less, you can just use the table. Otherwise, you will want to use the rule from Rev 1889:

http://code.google.com/p/projecteqem...svn1889&r=1889

You can also use a combination of the rule and the table if you want, cause it will give you live-like skill caps up to level 85 anyway.

Default Skill_caps Issue

Bringing this issue back from the grave. I've seen others having this same exact problem. My server has a max level of 100 (RoF2 client), and as a default PEQ DB, in-turn broke most melee combat skills. i.e. double attack, duel wield, and only showing languages on GM trainer.

Go into your rule_values table and under Character:SkillCapMaxLevel=-1, change the -1 to (in my case) 100. That will fix your skills issue
