Default Issues connecting outside of host PC

Hello! I recently started toying with all this and made Spectral EQ (available in the Server list).

Unfortunately, outside of the PC running the server, I can't seem to connect to it. Am I doing something wrong? This is meant to just run so friends and I can play together and they can experience a game I truly love/enjoy but never got to themselves.

Any advice or help would be great here. I don't even know where to start as far as what info to offer to start getting answers. Perhaps someone with more experience will be able to point me in the right direction!

Thanks!

Edit: It occurs to me I should at least include what I've done to give folks a starting point of reference.

For the other PC's I've tried to connect on, I've downloaded the ROF2 client (installed after running as administrator), put the patchme bit in the shortcuts target line. I can connect to the server list but when I select Spectral EQ, it kicks back to login after a couple minutes and says something about needing to connect to the update server. I can't seem to figure out what I need to do to overcome this. These sorts of things aren't really my strong suit.
