Default Hey, eqgame.exe error if you didn't know...

Only happens when the ip 64.251.21.39 is having lag!

Other than this being the most annoying thing that no one seems to want to fix...I found out if I ping the ip(and URL) that the request time out so it seems the real reason is that the login screen is wanting to get information for the various servers and their ips. So this is 100% a eqemulator.net issue. Either their provider sucks(they wouldn't go down would they, no way!), the login code that communicates servers to the login server(for us to extract) or something of the such is causing the issue.

Anyone, some ownership?

I too am a little shocked this has gone not only resolved, but unaddressed. Aside from Mattmeck locking redundant posts from people who cannot read, I haven't seen anyone say shit about this problem. It gets so bad for me now that I switch to mini mode just to test something out.

I did find one strange thing happening last night. From my PC (Qwest DSL here in AZ), I was crashing and crashing, 20+ times in a row. Kept messing with files, thinking it might be something simple on my end.

On a second PC, I launched EQ - forgetting I was VPN'd into my business network - and no crash. So I started thinking it might be my DNS. After hours of tinkering, I could not find one single commonality, and went and hung myself.

I've been a pretty big fanbois of this project for sometime... but after my 4 mo break, and seeing these crash issues being ignored, I am starting to change my opinions.

btw, after the apparent "outage" today, where I couldn't even get to the forums for 6 hours, I am able to connect to any server I like - including mine - via the public login server. Odd.

It lasted more than 6 hours (almost a day). Usually starts on Fridays, and sometimes lasts though the weekend

Yikes, I didn't know it was down that long. Something suspicious though is that after it comes back up, things work great. So last night as I was posting, things were working ok, but today, I cannot get in to save my life.

Matt, I know if you knew something, you'd help. You of all people know how out of control this problem has been. Thanks for all your patience, btw...
