Default Creating a GM on your server

This is a question that is more common than one would notice in these forums. If you're wondering how to create a GM toon.
It's simpler than you think. First create a toon on your server. Even while you're still logged on, go into your database to the
'accounts' table and find that account. Set the "status" table value to 255 and save it. Zone once with your toon and done.
Note: You are setting that GM status for that whole account, so each toon you create on that account will have GM status.
Tip: if you want to freely roam around without KoS mobs attacking you, with your in-game toon, use #gm on. Mobs will
leave you alone.

Just to add a little bit to the post above:

The status 255 that The_Beast lists will give you the control to execute all of the GM commands on your server. That's a big plus if you're doing all of the work yourself and want to be able execute all of the commands.

If you also have some help in the form of additional GM staff, or want to allow certain EQEmu Commands to be available for players, take a look at your command_settings table. The access field indicates the account status needed to execute the command.

If you set the command to access 0, a normal player can use the command.

If you set the status on an account to a higher level, you can pick any of these statuses for GM titles in the /who list:

0 Normal
10 * Steward *
20 * Apprentice Guide *
50 * Guide *
80 * QuestTroupe *
81 * Senior Guide *
85 * GM-Tester *
90 * EQ Support *
95 * GM-Staff *
100 * GM-Admin *
150 * GM-Lead Admin *
160 * QuestMaster *
170 * GM-Areas *
180 * GM-Coder *
200 * GM-Mgmt *
250 * GM-Impossible *

Thanks for your input Turmoil. Yes, much more advanced things one can do with GM command settings, even with those who
are comfortable editing source code and recompiling, little tidbits to play with, if you are planning a server with a player base,
but I figured the "Creating a GM toon" will help get you started anyways.

eqstr_us.txt handles what the status ranks are called by the way.
