Error: Timeout Ocurred...

Ive been playing on emulators for a while so i know the basic jest of things but after my computer crashed and i had to resinstall everything i cant seem to login to the server selection page without getting the Error: timeout ocurred. Any help would be much appreciated and if it makes things easier the only thing new about my computer this time is its running on vista now.
