Default Translation of eqemu and EverQuest

Hello all,

I have been working on a translation of eqemu in french (server betterquest.fr). So far, I have mainly worked on the local eqstr and dbstr text files + the spells in the server database.

I have two questions:

- is it allowed to freely distribute translated .txt files of the titanium client ?

- has anyone ever worked on a similar project ? we will probably start, one day or another, to address the hardcoded text strings in the .c eqemu files; if someone has already worked on a patch that would allow for getting these strings out of the .c files and into database or local server file, we would be happy to start from that instead of starting from scratch.

Guy

custom servers have been distributing custom txt files for years. My main concern would be that we have no facility for changing text in other places really :P We've mostly ignored the translation factor for simplicity :P
