Default Is there a way to stop udates from sony??

Is there a way to stop sony from updateing the game and can I play my game offline on my own server?

The reason I ask is because when the emulator is fixed I wont ever worry about sony updates messing things up again
thx in advance

1. To stop the updates, just don't run the patcher. And if you need to play eqlive and the emulator.
  • Right click on your EverQuest folder
    Hit copy
    Right click and hit paste.

It'll make a new folder.
  • Then right click on the new copy folder,
    Click rename
    Type EQEMu.

Then you'll have two folders.

One for live, and one for emulator. Don't update the emulator one, until your specifically told to do so.

2. Yes, you can play your server offline. The minilogin allows you to have a localhost loginserver.

No, just leave the folder alone. You can skip the patcher many different ways. But these are the two most popular ways.

1. ) EQW - http://www.eqwindows.com
This program allows you to run EverQuest in a window (before the alt+enter was created with EQ) It will give you an option to patch, or skip the patcher.

2. ) Patchme -
1. Press Start
2. Go to Run
3. Type in your everquest directory/eqgame.exe patchme

There may be other ways of doing this, but these are the two most popular methods around here.

But I/most of eqemu users

suggest that you make a seperate eq folder. Just incase you accidently patch and your out of playing for a month or however long it takes to redo eqemu due to big patches. You'll be very glad you did so when that time comes. Cause we all have mistakes and screw up, and don't let the little screw up screw you over.

If I made a mistake, just remind me and not flame me, i'm eatting/listening to music/watching tv. :P

For the few Private Messages i've recieved about the windows xp theme. It's called Dark Avenger, you need to get Windowblinds to use it.

I don't have a link for it anymore, you can try at the Windowblinds website:

After must research and concluding i'm an idiot.

The style is: "Avenger"
The sub design was "Dark Avenger"

So it really is on wincustomize but we were looking for Dark Avenger instead of Avenger. :P

You can download it here:
