Default Connection problems

I am have connection problems. I can connect to my server just fine, however others are not able to connect. My server was up and working untill a major crash disabled it. people were able to connect then. Got everything back to the way it should be and now no one can connect. None of the connection settings were changed during the switch over. All ports are forwarded. Nothing else is using the ports when I check TCPview. When other people try and log in, there is no error message it is just a black screen untill it reverts them back to the server page. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

What client are you using? Also can you turn on debugging on world?

I wouldnt say everything. <grin> What all have you've done to restore the server? Just sourcing in a DB from backup, or more. I ask because, if it had just been a source, I'm assuming you would just say that, though the post suggests more than that was done.

If it was only a simple sourcing, then, well. I cannot imagine anything port forwarding, firewall, etc. would have changed. But, if you did an uninstall, reinstall of Akka's repack (or your own compile), then I'd venture to lean towards Windows firewall rules (delete/recreate) as starting grounds.

well I uninstalled akka's, and MySQL and reinstalled everything. firewall exemptions are still in place. I did remember this morning that I did not manually delete the pearl files between. Don't know if that could cause a problem but with they way everything else has worked so far, it wouldn't surprise me. All editing was done in game, no custom zones. Like I said everything is working exactly like it should behind the router, its just when others try to connect its almost as if the ports are not open but I have verified several times they are and even reset them and re-opened them. The only thing I can think of that was done differently this time than last, was the pearl files not being removed and not being installed in a fresh windows install in between.

Are you using this on a desktop or server? What operating system are you using? Can you format and install a fresh version of the OS?

Getting a connection refused with the canyouseeme. Checked router and firewall again all ports are open as they should be. Its on a desktop. I can install a brand new copy of windows (using windows 8.1) that may be the problem. The more I into working on this the more I discover that the server just simply did not crash but seems to have been deliberate with the amount of data it has affected. I guess its time to re install windows and go that route.
