FIX! / Final edit: Sorry for all the spam people. I figured out what was wrong and wanted others who had this problem to have a chance at fixing it. My Cpu was overclocked from 3.5GHz to 4.4GHz. I read a few threads on the live forums that claimed clock speeds higher than 4.2GHz break the game. I tried lowering it with Windows cpu management, but it didn't work. So I downclocked to 4GHz flat (in my BIOS settings) and the game worked fine. Basically my multiplier was at 22, and I lowered it to 20. I should probably lower my voltage too... maybe later.

Hey guys, I would like to bump this thread, I'm having the same issue the OP commented on. I've tried Titanium and RoF clients, multiple fresh installs of each, ugh. I've tried connecting to different servers (PEQ, EZ, my own local server).

The character select screen in each case is always completely unresponsive. It logs in fine, but the only input that seems to be accepted in the character select screen is the ESC key. I can click buttons and see them being pressed, but nothing happens. I can see my characters, but they are running through their selection animations 100000X faster than normal, lol. I can create a short youtube video recording this if it would help identify the problem. I believe the problem is client side. On that note, I will try using the same client on my laptop in a bit...

One last comment - I have an AMD FX-6300 cpu. I've applied the multi-core fix, and verified in the task manager that the game is only running on a single cpu core. Unfortunately, that didn't make any noticeable difference.

Edit: I'm running 64-bit Windows 10 on my client PC, and my local server is 64-bit Windows Server 2012 R2. I just did a fresh install of the all-in-one installer from the Wiki, and it appears to be running correctly (all white/yellow text in the cmd windows). I am stopped by the character select screen because no input is accepted and the character is animating at hyper-speed. To verify my local server wasn't the problem, I did connect to PEQ and EZ servers, where I saw my characters from the old days also helplessly animating at hyperspeed and not responding.

Edit2: So, I clicked as fast as I could for about 15 seconds, and one of the clicks went through to make a character on the character select screen, so I closed out of it. Long story short, I was able to use keyboard commands to log into an existing character on EZ Server and experienced the light-speed movement through the server. My mouse wouldn't respond to anything, so I used /camp to quit, I'll continue to troubleshoot the apparently CPU related issue
