Why can't I connect to any servers

I finally got eqemu to work, and I logged in and got to the server list, but whenever i click on a server, the screen goes black, and then right back to windows, does anyone know what is going on? or do I just keep trying to connect, and hope I get lucky? any help would be much appreciated, thank you

here are some better details, i get the 1017 error, and i my eqhost.txt is up to date, and i have the most recent eqlive patch, which i am thinking it might have been a mistake to load, but hopefully not.

i patched today, and i can play, so thats prolly not the prob (but always keep a backup :>)
u can only run on DR2-servers if u have the latest patch btw.
