Right now it's just another link to the source. Lacking a compiler, I was really looking forward to downloading the binaries to finally set up my EqEmu server, but looks like I'll have to wait some more, because anything less than 0.5.5 doesn't work with the latest patch.

Exactly and not only that the link there right now is only for the source and not the binaries, the name of this thread needs to be changed, it gives people the wrong idea and this source link has already been posted numerous times.

I agree completely, Lets call it beta testing the new binaries to help find the bugs, we submit the bugs and then get updated binaries later down the line. This is just something to get our servers up

Gonna RE-suggest that this topic be changed. It's not binaries, it's source. And since nobody wants to compile these it's just another dead end thread on my search results.

Does Visual C++ not compile this? Im getting tons of errors when trying to compile this and I don`t know why.

for people who just want to try and create a server,..like myself....where can i get the olser binnaries that work well.

You need the newest binaries or you'll just end up setting up a server that nobody can log into. You need the 5.5 binaries. anything less and you're catering to maybe 20 people total who have an older version.

Look at all those people logged on 5.3 servers, how do you think they do ?
And those people still on the 5.2 version. They did not patch accidentally.

EQEMu's happy client rule #1 : read the forums before you patch.

There MIGHT be more. Not many though. we'll say maybe 80 tops to be generous.

And those people who started using this AFTER feb 10th? That's me and a lot of other people here. And there's really no sense in another person setting up an old server. That's my point.

Were do i get the older source releases?
