Default Can't Press Enter

I just recently got a Laptop which i'm using to box my cleric (it's pretty cool, i've mapped his hotbar to a joypad so i can play him without even looking!)

Problem is, when I'm ingame I can't press enter. So the cleric cannot chat with NPCs. Which is kinda detrimental.

SoF Platform, Vista Home Premium 32bit, GeForce 9400m (it's an SLI between 9300 GS and an onboard 9100 pretty nifty for a 400 quid laptop! hooray for vista clearance!)

Any of you guys reckon it could be Directx runtimes or something? Just seems ultra weird.

EDIT:- Disregard or delete. It appears that the laptop has the number pad enter key and return confused. Even tho it has both, return wont work with numberlock on, ingame anyway.
