Default Portable Merchant and Banker

So, I keep finding my self full of loot while still wanting to be in a dungeon. To circumvent this, I decided it would be cool to have a banker and merchant "pet" or something similar to bring up while I'm in the dungeon.

I looked through the Spells file and saw two spells that looked like they would do this (POIPetBanker and POIPetMechant), but they couldn't find the proper NPC to summon, even when I added the NPCs with the exact names to the database.

So instead I decided to use Monster Summoning I and II. I modified the NPC entries for them to be a banker and merchant (with low stats so they couldn't be used as real pets), then created two click amulets which I put on a vendor for sale so people could buy them. I may remove the spell scrolls as well so they are exclusive to the amulets.

This works, but mages lose two spells (which I didn't think got used much anyway). Also, if I'm a pet class, I have to kill my pet (which may be buffed and have armor/weapons) before I can summon one.

Is there a better way to do this?

Live has the 10th year vetern AA "Summon Agent of Resupply". Basically, it summons a familiar that can be used as a merchant. Seeing as we're working with an older client, the spell it uses probably isn't in the Titanium spell file. http://lucy.allakhazam.com/spell.htm...95&source=Live

And yes, those Monster Summoning spells get used by low level mages. They proc a stun that is great at the lower levels. Even at the higher levels, it's still a good pet to use. From 71-75, Monster Summoning V is the best regular pet a mage can use until they get their 76 Air pet.

I'm just using Monster Summoning I & II, the higher level ones are still available. I don't see any great loss with not having those two spells when other pets are available during the non-endgame levels (and when I was playing Live, Mages rarely used them).

However, it's irritating to have to resummon a pet and re-buff them when breaking out a merchant/banker, more so because non-pet classes don't have that problem. But I guess that's just going to have to be the price you pay.

Use the level 1 and 2 enchanter pets instead.

I know trevius has an item on Storm Haven that casts a spell "Summon Banker", although it looks like he created a unique spell for it.
From his tweaked spells_us.txt file:

It just replaced an unused spell, Free spell, in the spells file. Then, you just need to add Temporary_Banker + the NPC ID into the database.
