Default Zek Season 3 Begins APR 28th

Here is a preview of whats in store for season 3. This list is subject to change as we finalize things

- No boxing limits
- GuildWars server (guilds vs guilds)
- players start in their home town (by race).
- Lvl 60 (tiered up) with limited AA's (general tab)
- PVE respawn naked (must retrieve corpse to recover items).
- Nexus provides as neutral hub to quick access of old world.
- Soulstone available to return to nexus
- Contestable group/raid bosses for Arena

PVP Behavior:

- Guilds can place their own camps in world (consist of 8 guards in a square pattern around a ninth npc, the translocator/bank npc)
* Will restrict away from zonepoints
* Will restrict away from existing npc's
* Cannot place in dungeons or cities
* Upon death of all NPCs camp is destroyed, must be placed again.
* All NPC's of the camp including the bank npc/translocator must be killed to 'destroy' the camp so it does not respawn. You cannot destroy your own guilds camp.

- Guild cities (incentives TBD)
* Freeport
* Erudin
* Felwithe
- Players start red at lvl 1
- PVP 4 lvl range, unless you have excess infamy due to training, then any level above you can attack (or be attacked).
- 3 encampments exist that are takeable (tox, greater faydark, lavastorm).
- pvp ears on all corpses (lvl 1+), won't be used for PVP points as previous seasons, but some alternative (contestable arena bosses?).
- able to loot cash, PVP points (group points supported also), pvp coins (given to group, lvl 20+ target)
- PVP respawn with items in nexus (minus 1 random inventory item drop, PVP LOOTABLE, DOES NOT INCLUDE EQUIPPED ITEMS).
* health cut in half
* mana set to 0
- PVP lockout of zone for 10 minutes against last zone you died in.

More info can be found on our website @ http://www.eqpvp.com.

This actually sounds super fun except for one tiny detail. This is just my opinion, but the "no boxing limit" thing is what will keep me from playing here.

I'm honestly more interested to see what we could "raid" at the various level caps than the pvp, heh. How many level 20's does it take to farm yaks? :p

But yeah, no box limits seems rough. Someone running 6 mages could run by you and you wouldn't stand a chance.

In past seasons/servers this is really much less an issue than you would imagine.

People that 2+boxed were just fodder for those that were even half way decent pvpers. a group of 6 real players > a group of 1 player and 5 bots.

We did this to cut down on petitions of XYZ person is 431boxing. Then we have to investigate and take time to deal with it. Do that 50 times a day for 50 different players and well..it gets fucking annoying.

This season (nice thing about seasons, we can try diff things) we decided to see how it works out. If it doesn't, wont have it next season.

That whole "seasons" idea is a good idea for any modern server. I like that.

Always get hyped for a fresh launch, especially if there will be some population behind it. Logged in today to check this server out. Kind of turned off by the fact that there is a gear merchant in Nexus. I don't think this server is for me. I guess it sees PvP as the major component, and not the gearing/leveling experience with PvP mixed in?

I was hoping to just enjoy leveling and gearing up on a fresh server without intent to participate in the PvP aspects. Oh well, have fun you PvP'ers :p

That's correct we are pvp focused. There is a gear merchant in bazaar to buy basic gear (kunark sets @ level 20) for coin. The best gear is bought with pvp points (gained by killing other players, or participating in PVP events) in the bazaar.

We give out the low end gear to help players jump into the pvp. So new players aren't at such a gear disadvantage because they didn't start day 1.

Default Drunken Gnome Race - Scheduled Sunday, June 11th @ 8PM EST / 5PM PST

Reminder: We only run the Titanium client! see www.eqpvp.com for 'how to play'.

Drunken Gnome Race - Scheduled Sunday, June 11th @ 8PM EST / 5PM PST

Event will be left running for at least 48 hours after the race begins (Tuesday, June 13th @ 8PM EST / 5PM PST), with a potential extension.

Event items will drop only for those in the race and will be no drop! This will be one gnome to keep!

Checkpoints will be installed at various zone points/npc's which will note your progression. The race will obviously be starting inside Akanon and ends somewhere in Odus (you will find out). The checkpoint system will notify you of the next waypoint and the final destination.

Requirements to be in the race:

Must be a gnome
Must be level 1
Must be bound to Akanon
Be in Akanon to start the event (you can arrive after and still participate)

Those in the event will not able to do the following until the event ends (or they complete the full race):

unable to group
unable to be buffed by anyone but themselves
unable to rebind
unable to use nexus teleporters
unable to be teleported by other players

There should be no interference from outside players who are not participating in the event. Doing so will risk isolating your character in a zone that you will not be permitted to leave.
