Default Character, NPC and MOB textures are black.

I just downloaded and started playing on the new Project 1999 server, so I'm new to Everquest emulation. Everything is going well so far with regards to gameplay with one exception: all the textures are missing from players, NPCs and monsters. They are just black voids. This is the same no matter which server I log into.

Has this happened to anyone else? I am hoping I just need to reinstall or rename some texture files but how do I begin to go about that? Thanks in advance.

sorry to hear that :/

I want to add, if it helps anyone with our problem, that held items appear normally. The Priest of Discord still has a distinct staff, MOBs hold weapons with visible textures. Everything except character models is fine.

Did a little bit of reading for searches of this. The most probable cause appears to be a corrupt RenderEffects folder.

I've never experienced this issue so I can't give you a definitive answer.

yeah. Make sure you have \RenderEffects\ folder copied/installed properly.

Hmm sorry to bump this but I reinstalled twice and the textures are still black. I asked on chat if anyone had a copy of their rendereffects folder but I didn't get any bites. If someone out there has a copy and wants to send it to ettree34@gmail.com I would really appreciate it.
