Default Original EQ music

Now I would love to get the first original eq music in here. The melee music is annoying after they changed it. I loved the first one. Is there anywhere I can get it and where would it go, and would it work?

Thanks!

I found a download for the original music (hosted by SoE or verant actually) in wav format. I think the original music was stored in a different file format though, so I'm not sure how you'd go about putting it back into the client.

edit: On second thought, you could probably convert them into .mp3 and replace the new mp3 music with the old ones. As for getting a copy of it, I am sure there are tools out there that will extract the music into a workable file for you from the original files.

I'm using Titanium and this worked for me.
You'll just need to rename these files in your everquest folder:

eqtheme.mp3
combattheme1.mp3
combattheme2.mp3
deaththeme.mp3

to something like:

eqtheme.bak
combattheme1.bak
combattheme2.bak
deaththeme.bak

The game will then load the old style midi songs instead of these MP3's.
Props for this info goes to "Project 1999" where I found this.
