Default Requirements for new personal server

So I want to start my own server to do my own raids just for myself. I have seen people do it on YouTube with the download from here but they always use a VM. My question is I tried to make it on a separate computer I had and failed. Do u need to make the server on a VM or what are the requirements for a server on a separate pc thanks for any advice. The guide only says a fresh windows install nothing about it should be a VM or the system requirements to run your server.

Honestly the system requirements are pretty lax, I had mine running on a single core 1.6ghz laptop with 8 gigs of ram. I'm pretty sure a mouse on a wheel could run it. Just use akka's installer on a fresh windows install on a seperate pc on your network. And you should be able to connect to it. but once you get it installed we can help you out if your still having issues.
