Default Ports question..

I am obviously missing something port wise.. If I set my server to the DMZ on my modem / router, I can access everything fine from outside my network. As soon as I turn the DMZ off, it no longer allows me to connect. Using the current akka install for windows. Is there a list of what ports need to be open..I have 5998, 5999, 7000-7500, 9000-9100 open. The one thing that confuses me, is that in the login.ini the listen port is set to 5998.. But I am using an RoF client which means in the eqhost you set the port to 5999. If the EQ server isnt running, and I do a port scan with like canyouseeme, 5998 and 5999 show closed. Once the server is running and listening, 5998 shows open. But since I am trying to connect on 5999 with an ROF client, it wont as that port isnt 'open' at that point. So would I ever change the listening port to 5999? Or any other suggestions?

Something I noticed in the past with that "canyouseeme" , it only sees ports that are
actually being used by a program.
That "listen port" 5999 in the login.ini is for the loginserver, it's not the port the client
needs to login to the world. I had some similiar issues with the modem I am using in the
beginning, I changed that listen port to 5999 (but note: it also has to be changed
in the eqemu_config file <loginserver> block) Things worked well for me after that.
