Default Serious question on public server

I am just curious on the legalities of a public server. Has anyone running a public server been bothered by Sony ? Do they just not care ?

I have thought of opening up one but I am not sure and still deciding.

there are around 50 public servers running today
my server has been up for over 3 years and it's fairly new as others have been around much longer without any notices from sony.

I don't believe there are any measured benchmarks other than 'Few', 'Some', 'Many', and 'Lots', though I could be mistaken.

I think you'd settle nicely somewhere in the general vicinity between 'Many' and 'Lots' if I were forced to guess at it.

... and after being around for 3ish+ years, I suspect that you have a better idea of what it'd handle than I would.

I am just a lurker.

I think I recall hearing people going over 1,000 players on 3MB/s
